Raymond
Stokley
Jun 16, 1936 — Jul 8, 2026
In loving memory of Raymond "Buddy" Stokley, a devoted father, husband, and grandfather whose kindness and faith touched the lives of all who knew him. Buddy, 90, of Diana, Texas passed away peacefully at his home on July 8, 2026, surrounded by his loving son and daughter-in-law. Buddy spent his entire life in the community he loved, building a legacy of faith, family, and service.
Born on June 16, 1936, at his home in Diana, to parents Tommy and Botha Stokley. Buddy was the youngest of four children and the only boy in the family. Buddy graduated from Diana High School and then went on to work at Eastman as a pipe fitter and later an inspector until his retirement. Buddy touched the lives of many young men while working at Eastman, many who he was still in contact with up until his passing.
Buddy married the love of his life Mollie at Simmons Hill Baptist Church in Diana Texas June 28, 1957. Buddy was a devoted husband for 67 years. Together they raised two children, Mike Stokely and the late Tricia Stokley in the Diana community where they enjoyed the country life.
Buddy's life was defined by his unwavering faith and commitment to serving others. He was an active member and Deacon of Simmons Hill Baptist Church for most of his life, a cornerstone faithfully serving his church family with humility and devotion. He was also a dedicated member of the Ashland Masonic Lodge for over 65 years where he held the degree of Master Mason, a testament to his lifelong commitment to the principles of brotherhood, integrity, and service.
Outside of his church and community service, Buddy found great joy outdoors. He loved fishing and camping, and he took great pride in helping his son Mike raise his cattle. Whether spending time on the land, enjoying the peace of the water, or making memories with family, Buddy appreciated the simple blessings of country life. His strong work ethic, love of nature, and devotion to his family were evident in everything he did.
Those who knew Buddy will remember him as a man of quiet strength, steadfast faith, and deep love for his family. His example of kindness, hard work, and dedication touched the lives of many and leaves a lasting legacy for generations to come.
Buddy is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mollie Stokley; his parents, Tommy and Botha Stokley; his sisters, Mildred McKamy, Joyce Simpson, and Lois Molsher; and his daughter, Tricia Stokley.
He is lovingly survived by his son, Mike and wife Sharon Stokley; his grandchildren, Victoria, Isaac, Kelly Lockhart and husband Jarred, and Michael; and his cherished great-grandchildren, Noah, August, River, MaKenna, Bryce, Levi, Costas, Alden, and Lily. He also leaves behind many dear friends who will miss his steady presence and kind spirit.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Buddy's life during a visitation on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Simmons Hill Baptist Church. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m., with graveside services immediately afterward at Smyrna Cemetery.
Though Buddy will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort in the many memories he created and in the enduring faith that guided his life.
