Richard Mark Holt

Richard Mark Holt left this world to join the Lord on April 28th, 2024, in Gilmer, Texas. He was born December 14th, 1970, to Weldon and Sherry Holt (Mize) in Greenville, Texas.

Richard never met a stranger! He would greet everyone with a smile, handshake and a “Hi, I’m Richard Holt!” He married Bonnie Parker on May 18th, 1990, and they spent the next 34 years raising four daughters and ten grandchildren. Richard’s grandchildren were the highlight of his life and he always turned into a kid again around them. He spent his life working as a carpenter and builder. He could fix anything anywhere. Truly, a jack of all trades!! In his free time, he was an avid hunter, fisherman, and outdoorsman. He taught all his daughters the love he had for nature and spent his days with friends and family at their deer lease in Betty, Tx. Richards favorite passion was to spend the day on the creek or lake fishing with his brothers and we know he is up in heaven fishing with his older brother Scott now.

Richard is survived by his wife of 34 beautiful years Bonnie Holt (Parker); Father Weldon Holt and Brother Steven Holt; He was blessed with four daughters, Carlie Holt, Amber Porter Holt, Shiann Roberts Holt, and Sherri Postell Holt. From his four girls he was blessed with ten grandchildren. When Damien Paxton Maxwell was born after having all those girls, Richard’s life changed! From there his four daughters gave him four granddaughters and five more grandsons. Makenzie, AJ, Lyanna, Aubree, Caidence, Liam, Aaron, Lincoln, and his youngest grandson Thomas all made his life light up with love and joy.

He is preceded in death by his mother Sherry Holt and Brother Scott Holt.

Richard Mark Holt touched everyone’s lives, and nothing will be the same without him.
