Robert "Bobby" Franklin Flanagan

Robert "Bobby" Franklin Flanagan, beloved husband, father, brother, and grandfather, passed away on July 5, 2023, at the age of 79. He was born on December 26, 1943, in Vicksburg, Mississippi to the late Robert and Lois Schumaker Flanagan.

Known affectionately as Bobby or Pop to his loved ones and friends, he will always be remembered for his warm smile, kind heart, and unwavering love for his family. Bobby's passion for life extended beyond his immediate circle to include a wide range of hobbies and interests including fishing, sports, and spending quality time with his beloved grandkids and great grandkids. A dedicated family man through and through, he was the pillar of strength and support to his wife Patricia Flanagan. Together they shared a bond that withstood the test of time. 

Bobby's legacy will continue to shine brightly through the lives of his children Wayne McGarity and his wife Patricia, Melissa McGarity, and Trisha Slaydon and her husband Kenneth; grandchildren Brandon Brantley, Whitney Brantley, Lauren Thompson, and Wesley McGarity; as well as great grandchildren Aiden, Addyson, Brooks, Kinsley, Hadley Remy, and Myles.

Those that have gone before him are his wife, Patricia Flanagan; his parents; sister, Carolyn McCluskey; brother, James R. Flanagan; and granddaughter, Casey McGarity

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at Croley Funeral Home - Gilmer located at 305 W Harrison St in Gilmer between 5:00 PM -7:00 PM on July 9th for a visitation service. A Graveside Service will be held at Memory Park on July 10th at 10:00 AM. Memory Park is located at 2823 E. Marshall Ave. in Longview, Texas.

Bobby's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
