Robert Henry Johnston

GILMER � Services for Robert Henry Johnston, 90, of Gilmer, will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 10 A.M. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with Bishop Justin Nessen conducting. Burial will be in Enoch Cemetery under the direction of Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Gilmer. Born on January 7, 1924, in Tupelo, Oklahoma, he died on Wednesday, December 31, 2014. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served during World War II as a Pearl Harbor survivor. He was self-employed as a pulp wood hauler. He is survived by his children, Linda Ann Robertson of Hawkins; Mary Alice Litton of Gladewater; Bobby Jack Johnston of Gilmer; Johnny Nephi Johnston of Gilmer; Alma Phillip Johnston of Gilmer; Allen Wayne Johnston of Gilmer; and Lynn Neal Johnston of Gilmer; sister, June Collum Knight of Dallas; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, La Vaughn Johnston, and son, Gene Loyd Johnston.
