Ronald Wayne McPherson

Ronald Wayne McPherson, a beloved resident of Gilmer, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2025. He was born on July 24, 1949, to John Dee McPherson and Thelma Faye Alexander McPherson in Gilmer.

One of Ronald’s proudest moments was exchanging vows with Gladys Dugger on July 24, 1965, in Upshur County. They celebrated their anniversary every year on the very day Ronald came into this world, a beautiful testament to their deep connection.

Ronald was known for his warm smile and kind demeanor. He was a devoted family man, whose greatest joys came from spending time with those he loved. He enjoyed activities that brought him closer to his family, reveling in the simple pleasures of life, including fishing, hunting, and traveling together. The memories he created with his family are treasures that will be cherished forever, reminding us of all the love and laughter he brought into our lives.

In addition to his hobbies, he was recognized as a good cook, known for his delicious meals that brought family and friends together. Ronald's warmth and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Gladys McPherson; sons, Eddie McPherson and wife Jessica, Jase McPherson; daughter, Shannon Walker and husband Clifton; sisters, Janie Phillips and Linda McPherson, along with 12 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

Ronald was preceded by his parents; son, Billy McPherson; daughter, Theresa McPherson and grandson, Riley McPherson.

Pallbearers will be Trent Bishop, Ronnie McPherson, Ramey McPherson, Dustin McPherson, Clifton Walker and Jayden McPherson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Caysen McPherson and Jase McPherson.

Visitation will take place on July 21, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM at Croley Funeral Home. Interment will be held at Rosewood Cemetery.
