Funeral services for Ruth Ann Davis, 76 of Gilmer will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Gilmer with Bishop Lance Seahorn officiating. Interment will be in Rosewood Park in Longview. Arrangements are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Mrs. Davis passed away Saturday, June 12, 2010 surrounded by loved ones. Mrs. Davis was born March 18, 1934 in Hot Springs, Arkansas to Burl G and Mable Victoria Heatherly. She had been a resident of East Texas for 44 years. Ruth worked at Decker meats for many years when they lived in Dallas. Then when they moved to East Texas she helped with the family business Davis Electric. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Ruth just couldn"t go on without her wonderful husband Coy who passed away last May after 55 years of marriage. She was preceded in death by her parents Burl G.; and Mable Victoria Heatherly, her loving husband Coy and brother-in-law Erwin Sisk. Mrs. Davis is survived by her loving children who will always love her. Daughter and son-in-law: Vicki and Jan Jester of Longview; son and daughter-in-law: Gene and Janice Davis of Gilmer; granddaughters and spouses: Brittany and Jeremy Neill of Alba, Jennifer Shaw of Longview, Carrie and Weldon Ashworth of Longview, and Amanda Jester of Longview; great-grandsons: Allen Phillip, Grayson Matthew and Hayden Coy Shaw of Longview. Brother and sister-in-law: Robert and Saundra Heatherly of Euless; and sister: Doris Sisk of Mesquite. Pallbearers are Jan Jester, Michael Heatherly, Shawn Heatherly, Carl Laza, Jeremy Neill, and Jason Arrington. Honorary pallbearers are Weldon Ashworth and Allen Shaw. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, June 14, 2010 at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at GSMC fourth floor as well as the wonderful staff at Margaret"s House. In Lieu of flowers, the family encourages a donation in memory of Ruth to the Beacon Hospice at Margaret"s House where she received such wonderful care (Beacon Hospice Foundation, Inc. P.O. Box 5908, Longview, Texas 75608).
