Sherry Elaine Ray Kennon

Sherry Elaine Ray Kennon passed away on May 26, 2025, at the age of 78. Sherry was the only child of Hardy and Elouise Ray.

Sherry married Tommy Kennon in May of 1972 and had 43 years together before his passing in 2015.

She spent her life dedicated to caring for others, first as a Licensed Vocational Nurse and then as a Registered Nurse at Good Shepherd Hospital. An active member of Mim's Chapel Church of Christ near Lake O' The Pines, Sherry found immense joy in her faith community, building friendships that filled her life with warmth and purpose.

Throughout her life, Sherry possessed an extraordinary gift for making friends wherever she went and she became a beloved figure at The Oaks Assisted Living, where she resided. Sherry enjoyed spending leisurely moments shopping and playing dominoes, bringing laughter and joy to the table as she gathered with family and friends. Sherry was a lover of music, enjoying a wide variety of genres throughout her life.

Sherry is survived by her aunt, Amanda Christian; special friend, Linda Bobo; first cousins, Becky Raines, Vallory Elliott, Nancy Bailey, James Patrick and Michael Skidmore; sister in law, Sue Kennon Brown.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hardy Duran Ray and Elouise Swearingin Ray; husband, Tommy Kennon as well as several aunts and uncles.

Pallbearers are Drew Johnson, Cade Johnson, Mason Bobo, Mackenson Bobo and Jon Upton.

A visitation will take place on Saturday, May 31, 2025, from 1:00PM-2:00PM, followed by her funeral service at 2:00PM, both will be held at Mim’s Chapel Church of Christ near Lake O’ The Pines. Interment will be held at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Pritchett.
