Sherryl Ann Carey

Sherryl Ann Carey, known as NuNu to many, born on January 28, 1947 in Dallas, TX passed away peacefully at home on October 25, 2024 in Hawkins, TX at the young age of 77. A beloved mother, grandmother and friend, she filled the lives of those around her with laughter, love, and a dash of the devil.

She met the love of her life, George L Carey, in grade school, and their bond was so strong that they married twice, a testament to their enduring love.

Despite being told they could not have children, a miracle occurred when she welcomed a baby boy, Geoffrey Layne Carey, into the world. He was the first of her treasures, followed by her three beautiful granddaughters - Copelynn (Christina Drake), Parker and Lakynn (Lauren Carey) were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment with them until her last day. Sherryl was also a beloved bonus mom to Cody Curry, treating him as her own son and creating countless cherished memories together. HELL!

Sherryl was known for her quick wit and playful spirit. She lit the room up when she walked in. She had a talent for pranks that brought joy and laughter to those around her.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband (George L Carey), her parents (JoAnn and Gene Martin), her in-laws (Mildred and George A Carey), and sister-in-law (Becky Carey).

There will be a viewing and visitation on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 from 6 to 8 in the evening at Croley Funeral Home in Hawkins, TX to honor her life and legacy.
