Tavian LaVaur Shawn Wilcox

Tavian LaVaur Shawn Wilcox, 16, was born on May 10, 2007, to Shawn Timothy Wilcox and Michelle Grindstaff Wilcox (Chelle). Tavian returned to his Heavenly Father on December 3, 2023.  Tavian is the 8^th child of 11.

Tavian is survived by 4 brothers (Jonathon, Timothy, Levi, and Zane), 6 sisters (BreeAwnnah, Alanna, Amymarie, Ashley, Heidi, and Sadie Mae), 3 brothers-in-law (Walter, Braden, and Dylan), 1 sister-in-law (Tiffany), 2 nephews (Noah and Caspian), 1 niece (Olivia), and both parents, who all love him so much.

Tavian was a fun, spunky kid. He had just started working at Brookshire’s and was so proud and excited about his job. He loved talking to customers and helping make their days a little better. He loved people and helping everyone. Tavian can bring a smile to anyone’s face. He had a dog, Anchor, whom he loved.  He had an infectious smile and loved life. He took joy in helping others feel happy. He loved his faith and was always willing to help where it was needed at church. Tavian loved playing with little kids, whether it be his own siblings or church family siblings. Tavian loved practicing and performing with his dance group. He had just performed his Christmas dance program and had done splendidly. Tavian had big dreams of living off-grid in Alaska and being a lumberjack. He enjoys working out and being a lumberjack in the backyard with his younger brother, Levi. Tavian was excited to get his driver’s permit and learn how to drive. Tavian will be greatly missed by all.

There will be a memorial held in his honor at 10:30 am on Monday, December 11, 2023, at the Quitman LDS chapel (1128 E Goode Street, Quitman Texas, 75783).
