Theodore "Ted" Eugene Guyton

Theodore (Ted) Eugene Guyton, 84, left this world to be with God, his Beloved Charles and Family on Thursday, April 24, 2025. Ted passed peacefully after a short illness; Close Family and his Loving Care Provider were with Ted as he passed.

Ted, born in Dallas, Texas, March 20, 1941; raised in Big Sandy Texas considered Big Sandy, Houston, Dallas, New York City and his Most Loved Maui his home. Ted is in the Loving Arms of His Mother, Helen Belo Ponder Guyton, his Father, Forrest Newton Guyton, Sister: Carolynn Reed Guyton: Brothers Forest Newton Guyton Jr. James Louis Guyton and His Soulmate Love of his Life, Charles Ashe Oldham, they shared a Loving 58 Years together and are now once again Planning trips to Maui and New York City.

Ted is survived by his nephew, Jeffry Guyton, Jeff’s wife Lisa Karen Guyton; beloved cousins of Oregon, Robert Johnstone, Penny Johnstone, Michael Johnstone, Matt Johnstone; cousins of Monroe, LA, Oliver Shultz and wife Sylvia; cousin of Houston, Carol Ann Oldam; Pam Daker of Houston and Trent Schultz of Dallas; Russell Gribble of Palestine; care provider, Miguel Acosta who was devoted to Ted and most importantly his friends.

Ted made an immediate impact on everyone’s life and will be remembered and missed for years to come. Stories and tales of Ted will be spun for many years.

Ted attended North Texas State University (now UNT) as well as Columbia University. He managed the West Texas Oil and Gas Concerns for his family; a Former Long Time Sales/Marketing Team Member of his Loved Braniff Airlines where he met Friends that have remained love and close for over 60 Years; Ted was a Real Estate Investor, with a Vast Portfolio from New York City to Texas (Houston, Dallas, Galveston, East Texas and West Texas), Honolulu and Maui as well as an Entrepreneur; with many Business’s that he cherished.

Ted and Charles travelled the World together many times, He Adored Broadway with Charles; Never saw an Estate Sale that he could pass on; Family and Friends were always first in Ted’s Heart; he was Loved by All, never met a stranger that didn’t become his Friend; a Heart with unlimited capacity for Love and Tenderness, a Long Time Episcopalian, he thanked God each and every day for all of his Blessings. Ted Lived Life to its Fullest! he was Never just a Participant. Never forgot his roots in Big Sandy, Loved Charles from the moment they met; talked endlessly about his Family and is now HOME.

Services for Ted were held at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer, Texas on Saturday, May 3, 2025. He was laid to rest at Chilton Cemetery.
