Timothy Shawn Roe

Timothy Shawn Roe of Ore City , Texas died on January 16, 2024 apparently peacefully in his sleep of natural causes. Timothy was born on January 1, 1964 in Sedalia, Missouri to Harold Lee and Ruth Elaine Roe.

Timothy had an adventurous childhood, as boys in the country typically do, and loved the outdoors. He never lost his enjoyment of nature and animals, and loved to feed little animals and birds that came to his porch. He graduated from high school in 1981, one year ahead of his class, and earned an associate degree at Ambassador College in 1985. His early work experience included managing room service at a hotel in Dallas and building houses in New Hampshire. He was recruited to play the wizard in The Wizard of Oz by a dance director who saw him in a disco. He taught canoeing in Minnesota. He studied nursing at UT Tyler before his interests turned toward kinesiology and fitness. He was a trainer at Gold’s Gym in Dallas and later designed an entire line of superior fitness equipment. Before his disability prevented him from work, he also worked as a structural metalworker, where his superiors were amazed at his ability to calculate solutions.

Timothy was an outgoing person who touched many people in his 60 years. He appreciated and valued relationships. He was no loner, but a gentle giant who truly enjoyed the contact he had with all those who were in contact with him.

He will be greatly missed by numerous friends, family, and especially his mother who he talked with every day.

He is survived by his mother Ruth, his daughter Erin Elizabeth and his son Cadence, his sister Laura and husband Bob, his brother David and wife Eva, his brother Daniel and wife Kayley, his sister Lisa and husband Paul, and the nieces Michelle, Rachel, Danielle, and Gabi, and nephews, Steven and Brandon. He was preceded in death by his father Harold and aunts Dorothy Lesch and Linda Webb.
