Victor M. Scalco Jr., of Longview, Texas, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family and the grace of his faith. A man of great heart, joy, and spirit, Victor lived his life with music in his soul and the Lord in his heart.
He is survived by his beloved son, Victor M. Scalco III, and daughter-in-law, Robin Scalco; his beloved sisters, Dora Scalco; Carol Irving; and his brother, Troy Scalco, sister-in-law, Martha Scalco. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Alexander Scalco and Aerin Scalco, who brought him endless joy. He also leaves behind his cherished nieces, Katherine Kelly and Karol Mason, and his dear friend and companion, Sherry Wallace.
Victor was a man who never met a stranger. With a voice that could lift spirits and a passion for sharing the joy of music, he loved to sing and entertain — not for attention, but to connect, inspire, and bring a smile to others. Whether it was a gospel hymn, a country classic, or a heartfelt conversation, he gave of himself freely and fully. Victor had a generous spirit, a sharp sense of humor, and a deep appreciation for life’s simple joys — whether it was a perfectly restored classic car, a Sunday drive, or time spent with those he loved. His presence was steady and comforting, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who were lucky enough to know him.
His faith was a guiding light throughout his life, and he was always ready to share the spirit of the Lord with others. Victor’s warmth, humor, and generous soul touched many lives, and he leaves behind a legacy of kindness, faith, and music that will echo for generations.
To honor Victor, his family invites you to join them for a memorial service on November 1st, 10:30 am at the Alpine Church of Christ, Longview, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you sing a song, share a prayer, or extend kindness in his memory — just as Victor would have done.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered with love.
