Wanda Joan Allard

Wanda Joan Allard, age 88, of Gladewater, passed away on April 8, 2023. She was born on April 30, 1934 in Gladewater to Joel and Verlie Smith.  Wanda worked as a WholeSale Purchaser in the Jewelry Industry for many years.  After retirement she continued working in real estate flipping houses.  She enjoyed gardening and was very proud of her Azalea bushes; to the point of relocating them at every house she moved in.  Wanda was a loving mother and grandmother.  She will be truly missed by all the loving family and friends she leaves behind.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son; Bradley Wendell, siblings; Troy Smith, Foy Charles Smith, Doris Norfleet, Juanita Baird, and Jewel Dahl.

Wanda is survived by her children; Dawn Elrod and husband Steve of Gladewater, Sonja Hughs of Forney, John Wendell and wife Natalie of Mabank, and Trace Wendell of San Francisco; sister; Barbara Mackey of Silsbee; grandchildren: Stephanie Griffith and husband Jerry, Krystal Coker and husband Ryan, Justin Elrod and wife Krystal, Tanna Wendell, Taryn Smith, Joshua Hughs and wife Amber, Zachary Hughs and wife Kayla, Tyler Wendell, and Toby Wendell and wife Ashley; and 16 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 14, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until service time on Friday.  Interment will follow services at Rock Springs Cemetery.
