Wilbern Ray Abshire

Wilbern Ray Abshire, 74, of Diana passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, August 3, 2023.  Wilbern was born in Orr, Oklahoma, to Clyde and Viola Roberts Abshire on July 22, 1949.  He retired from SWEPCO as a mechanic, and then was able to share his true passion of catfishing with his children and grandchildren. 

Willy was a person who held many amazing roles. To name a few are "Catfish Willy", "Willy the Welder", "Two-Step Willy", Dad, and Pawpaw. He enjoyed spending his time on the lake catching catfish, going to auctions, grabbing coffee, telling jokes, and being a Pawpaw. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Mamie Alice Abshire.  

Those left to cherish his memory are sons, Chucky Abshire and wife Ann, Philip Abshire and wife Donna, Michael Abshire; daughter Kimberly Shaver and husband, Terry; 
as well as his grandchildren; B.J. Abshire, Arial Abshire, Thomas Abshire, Justin Shaver and wife Ashley, Harlie Presgrove and husband Casen, Abbie VanCleave, Kimmie Abshire, Kaleb Abshire and wife Kaitlyn, Nathan Abshire, Brandon Abshire, Douglas Snider, Emmie Shutterfield, and Erika Ultrino; three great grandchildren, Mila Abshire, Kaisley Shaver, Davina Abshire and numerous other great grandchildren, along with friends and family members.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Visitation begins at 10:00 AM and the Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 AM
