William "Bill" H. Popejoy

Services for William Herbert Popejoy, 84, of Gilmer Texas will be Thursday October 17, 2013 at 2:00 pm, at Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Gilmer Texas. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park in Gilmer Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Gilmer. William passed away Sunday October 13, 2013. William was born January 15, 1929, in Strafford Missouri to Frank and Golden Popejoy. He was a Baptist and worked for the railroad as a Railroad Switchman retiring from Lonestar Steel. William is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Golden Popejoy; brother Robert Popejoy and sisters Jean Olson and Ruth Dishman. William is survived by his wife Wilma Jo "Biddy" Popejoy; daughter Jill Church and husband David; sister Louise Dishman. Grandchildren Daniel Church and Marcia Church as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Pall Bearers: David Beavers, Johnny Collier, Louie English, David Clark, Shane Mayhan, and Jose Marquez. Visitation will be at Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home in Gilmer Texas Wednesday October 16, 2013 from 6-8 pm.
