Coulter, Jr.
October 14, 1951 – February 23, 2026
Winford Childress Coulter, affectionately known as "Jr," passed away on February 23, 2026, in Gilmer, Texas. He was born and raised in Orange, Texas.
In his 20’s he moved to East Texas, with his late wife, Theresa. Jr was a father to three boys, a husband to Patsy and a friend to many, including his dog, Rowdy. He enjoyed and took great pride in teaching Rowdy new tricks.
Jr had a fulfilling career at Lone Star Steel, from which he eventually retired. Throughout his time there, he formed lasting friendships that he carried with him through life. Even after retirement, he cherished those connections, continuing to meet with his breakfast buddies for coffee.
Jr was a man who cherished his time spent outdoors. He loved hunting and fishing, often making these activities a family affair with loved ones and friends.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Patsy Coulter; three sons, Joseph Coulter and wife Dee, Brandon Coulter and wife Paula and Jason Coulter; sister, Cheryl Starks and husband Jack, Debra E. Coulter; sisters in law, Cathy Coulter and Debbie Coulter; along with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Winford C. Coulter, Sr. and Mary Jo Dixon Coulter; brothers, Michael O. Coulter, Sr., Jimmy M. Coulter, Sr., and beloved fur baby, Rowdy.
Jr was loved by many and left a lasting impact on our lives.
