Croley Funeral Home

Croley Funeral Home was established in 1883 by J.F. Croley.

Mr. Croley purchased the Croley Hardware Company in 1890 and began an undertaking business as part of the hardware store services. In 1920, a partnership was formed to run the business, and in 1933 the Croley Burial Association was formed.

Croley Cook, nephew of J.F. Croley, built a new funeral home in 1946-1947. The structure included a chapel with a seating capacity of 200 people. A larger chapel was built in 1979 and the facilities were renovated. To this day, the company continues to serve the community.

As further service to the community was needed, the decision was made to establish Croley Funeral Home - Gladewater.

Croley Funeral Home - Diana

For over 60 years, Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home has been here to serve the community.

Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home Gilmer was at its HWY 271 location since 1954. The original funeral home was started in downtown Gilmer as Loyd-Fike Funeral Home. After the move to its HWY 271 location, it became known as Loyd Funeral Home, and later, Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home. Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home has served Upshur, and parts of Camp, Wood, Marion, Cass, Gregg, and Smith counties over the years.

In 1999, Grubbs-Loyd opened a funeral Home in Diana to help serve the Eastern portion of the community we serve.

In 2023 the decision was made to change the name of the location in Diana from Grubbs-Loyd to Croley-Diana, as they have been operating together for over 35 years.
